5 Toxic Myths About Business

Since I spend a good part of my week working, I want my business to light up my soul, make money and change my clients’ lives and businesses for the better.

 

How about you?

 
Yet I watch my (and my clients’) energy drain when we start believing in an old way of doing business – one that doesn’t honor our bodies, doesn’t acknowledge our deepest dreams and desires and doesn’t fit into having a life outside of work.
 

So check in to see if any of these toxic myths about business have snuck their way into your thinking!

 

Myth #1: Businesses should run 24/7/365

With the internet ALWAYS open, it’s easy to have more work you could always do.

 
Yet for my business to be sustainable, I need to honor having down and creative time – and I can’t do that when I’m always available.
 

It’s okay to draw healthy boundaries around when you are working and when you’re rejuvenating.

 

Myth #2: A successful business is instant – and 6-figures+.

It’s hugely popular in online circles to sell the idea of quickly having a 6-figure+ business (meaning you make more than $100,000/year).

 
While that is AWESOME, I find that for most of us heart-centered entrepreneurs it takes time to build a business and there are many different ways to create one.
 
Your business should reflect YOU, your desires, lifestyle and timeline – not any current fad.
 
 

Myth #3: Your business is about your client.

When it comes to marketing, your business IS 100% about being of service to your client.
 
And yet I wholeheartedly believe that ultimately your business is about your personal evolution and it reflects your innermost beliefs and energetic DNA.
 

It’s a HUGE growth opportunity to be seen, heard, overcome perfectionism, resolve money issues… and when you weave your inner work and building a confident mindset into your business plan, then you are way more successful – and happier too. 🙂

 

Myth #4: Doing business should come naturally.

I see waaaay too many heart-based entrepreneurs beat ourselves up for not knowing how to do sales, marketing, technology, accounting, finding our niche – you name it.
 
And while we spend YEARS mastering what we teach or share, we often have little business training so how would you know how to effectively and profitably run a business?!?
 
Get the support and training you need to really be of service and make an impact.
 
 

Myth #5: You must create your business by yourself.

 
So many of us try to go it alone – we’re used to being independent, competent and not asking for help.
 
And yet I find that when we’re creating a business based on our soul’s calling, we often need mentoring and support – especially if we want to do business in this revolutionary new heart-based way.
